Sweetheart, or Pointed Cabbage not only has a beautiful shape but a lovely, mild delicate flavour. It's easy to grow and I had no problems with aphid attacks with this variety, which can be a plague to members of the cabbage family, hence this beauty was unearthed from the patch.

Eat Sweetheart cabbage raw in salads or cook lightly in butter or oil, or see my recipe below for Maple Braised Cabbage.

Note; to get rid of aphids naturally, dissolve 4-5 drops of peppermint oil in a small spray bottle and spray on affected areas of the plant.
